Camwhore attempt #82975928

Wedding cake = Adorable tiers of cupcakes

My favourite items of the whole menu:
Fresh prawns, crispy salmon in Hong Kong style,
Sauteed Broccoli with Enoki Mushrooms topped with Wolfberry

I finally found out the name of the red ditty things in my soup - wolfberry! IMHO they taste great and should be eaten with everything :)

Well it's been long. Really long, in fact.

(if you read the prev. post), this is my 3RD-day-to-sit-at-home, and only because I'm down with a really bad sore throat it was actually food poisoning from the steamboat gasp i had all kinds of different coloured stools and so im missing another day of attachment at MYMCA ;_;

Anyway I sort of left my com tucked somewhere under my pile of reading material (which i'm proud to say i'm done with half of!) for this.. 3/4 month? And only realised when Kay & Angel asked me "have you seen _____'s facebook profile??" yesterday at the steamboat outing. Well RAH no I haven't been on fb and msn in eons!

That reminds me, I had loads of fun at YV camp, made a new bunch of friends, and um spent a huge amount of time with Winata, including waking up beside her every morning and sharing the same bathing cubicle to the horror of.. everyone else :D I had this guy TF named Shawn as my mortal in the angelandmortal game and for DAYS my peg was empty and miserable but his gift was so cute! There was this huge box of tiny panda biscuits that I couldn't resist opening and shared it with my buddy group =D Oh, had Edmund for my TF so you can imagine how full-of-shit my camp days were, and eh the gross rotten banana + mudslides + waterbombing + jianqin's split pants + spartanshizz at station games! Can you believe our TFs made olivia, me and leong mutes during the disability challenge? They must think we talk too much :( That was three hours of torture!

The Sunway Hotel was marvellous. 5 minute walk to Pyramid Shopping Mall with all the retail goodness and Christmas trees EVERYWHERE! I took photos with green, white, auburn ones and this CLASSY BLACK tree :D But the sony tseries handbook is unexpectedly un-user-friendly so >:( no pics!

Oh and my room view was the entire theme park ^^ Spent one day shopping, we were hoping to get loads of cheap stuff but looks like they revamped the place since 10 years ago, so we got stuff from all the expensive places. Took photo with Santa and went on a earring spree (bought really pretty dangly ones that I'm prolly never going to wear) because they were on sale: 4 pairs for RM10!

The next day spent at the theme park turned out to be an exhilarating experience? My sister dragged me onto the worst rides at the amusement park. I have NO IDEA why they call it an AMUSEMENT park it should be fricking called DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE WITH NO GUTS. Like me. I suppose it should ring an ALARM bell when the ride's called Pirate's Revenge? Wtheck the woman at the gate told me, no, not scary la, they go very slow one. What bull i tell you. I regretted it the very moment I sat in that brown seat, tucked my head in and screamed for my life when the thing went 180 degrees, then the full turn on me. The worst thing is they hold you there for 10 seconds at that 180 degrees position, "to let you see the world in another way", well, no i decided I do not like looking at things upside down, much less facing a plump, happy and screaming Filipino woman. Couldn't see straight when i got down x.x Went for the water park after that, de jevu at the man-made beach with the currents, awesome fun at the water playground, horrible water slides that I had to go on with my sister the daredevil -.-

Hmm yeah and right the next day I was back for attachment, went for this xmas celebration at Trinity Paya Lebar and interacted with many elderly people, including this granny who told me like, everything there was to know about her ever since the minute I sat down. I might have missed a few lines here and there but yeah fun experience! Can't get over the fact that Amos thinks my winter tree stencils look like ph-ll-s-ses, but snow-painted onto the doors of MYMCA nonetheless (:

Mmm yeah Survivor Gabon is on now so bye yall!

understand cram apply score

Went out for a long-course dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday today, and this marks my latest foray into chinese cuisine, from Yunnam. Not exactly a joyful experience because the Yunnamese (are they called that?) apparently take a liking to adding wasabi and spicy sauces to the dish and successfully robbing it of the original flavouring -.-

I was really pleased by the individual servings and the chic way that the sauces are arranged on the plate although I didn't touch them:

Genuine shark's fin soup with dollops of the fin
Oh, the controversies; high mercury levels, endangered sharks..

In actual fact the fin is no specialty, I like the soup base a lot more. Too bad their prices are the other way round ):

Tiger prawns in some soy + ketchup concoction

Cod, of which only makes up less than half of that miserable piece on the plate
But look at the sauce decor, so pretty!

Yam paste pudding which I dug into already

And a few more normal looking normal tasting commonly seen ones.

Isn't this supposed to be the time of high stress levels, tightening social outings and boosting the brain? I guess whatever stays in your brain stays and whatever doesn't will be really hard to force in so dumdums really wish I had stayed awake last year when they were teaching coordinate geometry because those lines just dont get together in my brain!

TEN MORE PAPERS! then indulgence (:

(will reply to comments afterward)

MORE FOOD

Another food event that um, survived the rain. We moved into the ballroom after that so it was okay. My parents suggested that I join the waiting (waiters) service for part time work. I told them they'd have to pay THEM for the dishes I break. Then they took that suggestion back. This makes another entry into our extensive family food log.

No pictures of food because I couldn't really see what I was eating properly. We had one romantic, tiny candle at a table of eight under a large tree that was shedding its leaves, so... I wonder what I ate hmmm.

Food for Empty Spaces

Feel much better after talking to hest, thank you (:

I picked up the free bilingual newspaper from yesterday to read about Phelp's new record and in a miserly side column sat one heading which made me nearly spit out my tofu:

KRISPY KREME OPENING IN KL NEXT YEAR! And my first thought was: I'm so going to apply for a regular visa to Malaysia lol.

For all of you who haven't heard of Krispy Kreme (you cant because it was so flamboyantly featured in sex&thecity) it pawns your dunkin'/dippin'/missy donuts entirely even before the first bite because the label is spelt: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Not donuts but doughnuts ahhh <3.

Simply Fabulous

Can you believe that it's got franchise all over the world (even in Africa!) BUT not in SG. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are in second placing (after Disneyland) on my list of Ten Best Things I Love About The States :D I might just cut class to get a snack across the causeway next year. How exciting.

I wonder if they'll do home deliveries! Will get my hands on more details after bloc tests (:

Status: One day to History paper - haven't made significant progress yet.

Wasabi Attack!

Fourth Day into the March Hols and I haven't really done any work, except sit on the couch and -

STOP EATING THAT SEAWEED/(fill in the blank) CHARMAINE! YOU'LL GROW FAT!

-I can't stop eating to save my life. When my sister went to Melaka on a supposed study trip, all she brought back was humongous packs of wasabi-flavored seaweed (what was on her mind??) and a few plushies. So I'm actually pretty hydrated despite all that junk food because I have to down something like, 3 cups of water after 10 pieces of the spicy thing.

I've been telling myself, in a really serious tone that I have to be work-oriented and complete all my work by this holiday, but I'm already having trouble trying to locate my homework. Like, I can't remember which folder I put my SBQs in. OCD means to be very very organised but somehow I just cannot get organised enough.

The past few days have been some kind of torrential downpour and my mother insisted we should get some fresh air and walk to lunch. Brilliant ideas that mothers have sometimes, no? Barely halfway on the way back when we were all fat and drowsy, the rain started pelting like dinner plates and blew a hole in my umbrella. When I reached home and wringed my t-shirt i think it put a glass of water to shame heh.

This seaweed packet says: Oil-Free. How do you fry anything without oil anyway! As Riea was telling me, "If all else fails I shall be a cook, and I will have to have hired help to handle the knives and all that fire. NO WAY am I going anyway near those fires!"

"Right. So you can be the first microwave oven cook. o.0"

"How much do you think I'll earn?"

Sometimes she can be such a dunce =D
